This year brings us many exciting sporting events, and the Olympic Games in Paris will certainly be a spectacle that few will miss.
The City of Light will bring together the world's best athletes, and the citizens of Croatia will have the opportunity to follow their performance in Ultra High Definition (UHD) broadcasting via DVB-T2 technology.
This technological breakthrough is the result of the cooperation between Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) and OIV, it promises viewers an unforgettable experience of sports competitions with the highest level of detail, more intense colors and improved contrast, and the only thing that will be necessary is to start a channel search on a TV receiver that supports UHD image quality.
In addition to the existing programs on terrestrial television, which are broadcast in HD quality, a new UHD program will be added to broadcast the games in the highest possible image quality and will bring a completely new level of visual experience.
The UHD program will be broadcast from six OIV locations, covering the wider areas of Zagreb, Osijek, Rijeka, Split and Dubrovnik, which will enable reception of this sporting event for more than 2.55 million inhabitants.
OIV, as the network operator, will provide the necessary infrastructure and technical support for the launch of UHD broadcasting on DVB-T2, while HRT will be responsible for the production and transmission of the program.
The beginning of the test transmission will begin on July 15, 2024.
