ISO 9001
is the set of standards for quality management systems. Application of this set is beneficial within a company (increased efficiency, ongoing improvements and higher profits), but it also has external value (internationally acknowledged and recognizable quality management system, greater opportunities on foreign markets and higher customer/user satisfaction). Introduction of the ISO 9001 quality management system greatly reduces the possibility of negative impacts of operating activities on the quality of products and services.

ISO 14001 is a set of standards aimed at designing and implementing environmental management. The reasons why a company will introduce ISO 14001 are: its concern for the environment, alignment with valid laws, pressure by interest groups, marketing opportunities, requirements set forth by banks and insurance companies, lower overhead and access to European business integration. The certificate confirms that functional environmental management systems have been established, and that they contain precisely defined procedures and that the negative impacts of all business activities that may affect the environment are reduced to the greatest extent possible.

HSAS 18001 is an internationally recognized assessment of the requirement for an occupational health and safety management system. The standard was introduced to efficiently manage risks to health and safety at work, reduce the potential occurrence of injuries at work and job-related illnesses, monitor legal and other requirements, train and educate employees, ensure readiness in emergency situations, measure results and propose improvements.

ISO 50001 is the international standard which sets forth the requirements for establishment of an energy management system (EnMS). According to ISO 50001, an energy management system in operations establishes the framework for: establishment of an energy policy with specific objectives in order to improve an organization’s energy efficiency, define baseline indicators for energy consumption, identify critical areas and opportunities for improvement, and secure the foundations for implementation of efficient planning in the sense of investments and projected outlays. By the same token, the proper implementation of an energy management system ensures that an organization will, among other things, increase awareness of the importance of sustainable energy management among employees and improve its reputation among partners and other organizations.
