In cooperation with partners Telemach Hrvatska, Telemach Slovenia, DARS and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana, OIV started the implementation of the 5G-ADRIA project on January 1, 2024. The project financed under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) is focused on the analysis and research of the 5G infrastructure needed to support future transport services that will be used along transport corridors in two EU member states, Slovenia, and Croatia.

The study is currently under way, and in the next six months it will deal with issues of harmonizing the existing passive and active infrastructure along the corridor with current traffic information and management services and will be the basis for the development of future networks and services. It will also deal with issues of introducing initial standardized CAM (Connected and Automated Mobility) services with improved traffic information and management, issues of introducing advanced CAM services with cooperative international exchange of real-time traffic information and real-time traffic management and preparing the foundations for next generation networks with exceptional capabilities.
